CHANDER HILL FARM
We raise 100% grass-fed lamb here in Geauga County, Ohio. Our grass fed lamb is unlike like any other, just try
it & any preconceived ideas of what lamb used to taste like
will disappear, & you may well be a convert for life!
We have a small herd of 25 Katahdin/Dorper ewes -
we don't want to overgraze our pastures & we
prefer to keep it at a size where we know & can
identify each of our ewes. It is also much easier to
catch potential issues quickly since we know their
quirks & personalities. We can not only vouch for their superior, mild tasting meat, but also the very pleasant, gentle, curious natures of the ewes & their lambs.
Our sheep are raised on pasture & are moved daily
from April to end October (generally following the
cows in rotation which has many benefits, one being that they rarely need to be wormed). They always have
free access to minerals & fresh water. In the Winter,
they are fed hay & minerals.
Our lambs are never fed grain, just their mom's milk
& various legumes & grasses from our pastures which have not been sprayed with any pesticides or man made fertilizers for over 30 years.
We never 'buy in' any of our lambs - they are all born
here on our farm. You will be able to see mothers,
siblings & sires.
Over the last 4.5 years we have bred for specific traits -
all of our ewes are exceptional mothers & their offspring mature early, they have above average internal
parasite resistance & tolerance which reduces the need
for worm medicines (our ewes are wormed once a year), they usually can breed out of season. Our herd
is closed which means that we have purchased our foundation herd of ewes & any replacement stock will
be chosen from the ones born on the farm.

A non-refundable deposit of $100 per lamb
